Models 70 & 75 Liko Amputee Sling is designed mainly for safe and secure lifting of patients with high double-sided leg amputations, though it is also suitable for many other leg amputees.
Amputee Sling can also be used to lift people who are not amputees but have a tendency to slide out of other similar types of slings. The sitting posture is somewhat reclined.
Normally, the leg supports are placed parallel to each other under both thighs, but in some cases, it may be more appropriate to lift each thigh separately. Model 75 has a head support.
Recommended especially for: · Patients with high double-sided leg amputations. · Slender patients who have a tendency to slide out of other slings. · Patients with contractures (even foetal position). · Patients who are unable to bend 90° at the hip. (With crossed leg supports and sidebars.)
Important considerations: Sizes Medium and Large are relatively small; i.e., Medium fits a slender person. Amputee Slings can be specially ordered in any of our materials. See instructions for more details.
Alternatives: As alternatives to Amputee Sling and for lifting leg amputees, many of Liko’s other sling models can also be used, depending on the degree of amputation, sling application and type of lifting situation. We recommend, for example: · Liko Original Sling Mod. 10/11 · Liko Original Highback Sling, Mod. 20/26 · Universal Sling Mod. 00 or · Hygiene Vest Mod. 50/55. In some cases, Comfort Sling, which the patient sits in, may be appropriate.
