Stanford Hospital & Clinics in California, USA, were recently praised by the Veteran’s Administration for their investments in safe patient handling equipment and training. They have also been acknowledged by other organizations for their safe and efficient patient handling solutions, built around safe and easy-to-use Liko® patient lifting systems.
“It makes patients feel more comfortable when they see us using a machine to move them because we’re more confident,” said Joan Forte, interim director of nursing at Stanford Hospital & Clinics. “There’s no stress, no concern that they might fall or that moving them might cause some discomfort.”.
The Veterans Administration and the American Nurses Association have now asked Stanford to help design a template for other hospitals to use in adopting safe-handling equipment and practices.
