To/From Floor Lifting as smoothly and gently as possible
It is not just when somebody has fallen down that you need to use the lift from the floor. In rehabilitation, the lifting requirement to and from the floor is great.
With Liko's lifts, in combination with a sling supporting the entire body, this transfer is made in the gentlest possible manner for the patient as well as the caregiver.
Patient Lifts
For lifts to or from the floor, be sure to choose a lift with a lifting range high enough to reach all the way to the floor. All Liko® mobile lifts can handle lifts from the floor, but remember that on some models you may have to adjust the lift mast to the middle or lowest position.
Another important factor to keep in mind is how the base is opened and if there is really enough room inside the base to lift the patient comfortably. In general, larger lifts provide more space in the base. Golvo's base-width adjustment is parallel and therefore leaves maximum space for the entire body. This feature, combined with Golvo’s telescoping mast, makes Golvo especially suitable for lifts to and from the floor.
Naturally, an overhead lift is the superior alternative for lifts to/from the floor. Remember that some overhead lifts do not have a sufficient lifting interval to handle lifts from the floor in rooms with uncommonly high ceilings.
Slings
Several of Liko’s slings can be used for lifts to and from the floor. Which sling you choose depends on the patient's needs and abilities. Normally the patient needs support for the entire back and head when lifted to/from the floor. Following are suggestions on different models, classified according to the support the patient gets when being lifted in the sling.
