Horizontal Lifting When you need to maintain spinal stability

Spinal injury patients who need to be lifted horizontally are handled with extra care using specialized Liko® horizontal lifting equipment. Options include stretchers, stretcher levellers, bariatric slings, and a wide variety of accessories.

- OctoStretch
OctoStretch got its name from the eight arms which hold the lift sheet or the lift straps. OctoStretch is widely used on surgery wards and intensive care units and is very comfortable for the patient. Read more »
- UltraStretch
For bariatric patients, Liko® offers the UltraStretch which, together with the UltraTwin overhead lift, can lift up to 880 lbs (400 kg). The lift sheet is easily positioned under the patient by using the HandySheet.

- FlexoStretch
Structurally, FlexoStretch is very similar to UltraStretch, with the difference that Flexo features one suspension point only. The stretch leveller provides the opportunity to adapt the horizontal position perfectly for each patient. Handling up to 660 lbs (300 kg), it can be used with a lift sheet or with lift straps. For the most severe cases, for instance, burn- or back-injured patients, Liko® recommends a special spatula to insert the lift straps under the patient in order to minimize contact with the patient's skin. This allows the patient to be lifted in an unchanged body position. Read more »
